Crafters Mantra

Image
LFL June 2018 Kit The Crafters mantra  Shiny and colorful. I cut out the letters and popped up a few. Just to add a little more texture. But I'm loving this card kit. So much fun!

Faces!

Image
Three cards using the faces from the LFL June 2018 kit. Fun and quick cards - the great thing about card kits. :)

Make it shiny!

Image
I used the leftover punchenella (spelling?) from last month's LFL kit and added some paper and stickers from this month's kit (June 2018). I used spray adhesive on the punchenella and then sprinkled a bit of white glitter just to catch on the sticky edges. The glitter cardstock backing made it stand up to the  bright shiny gold of the punchenella. A simple card but I really love how classic looking this turned out.

Sunburst Crafty Girl - LFL June Kit

Image
Playing with the sticker sheet. Such fun sayings, I wanted to use them all so I made a card that came close. LOL. And ... of course ... I lined them with silver Love from Lizi peel offs. Because obsessed. The only tough part was the stickers did not sticker - I had to use my Nuvo glue.

Thank You - Shaker Hair - LFL

Image
I'm always putting fun colors in my hair so I played with hers! Using the stamp set in the Love from Lizi June 2018 kit, I stamped her and the hair (they are separate in the set). I used a craft knife to cut out the hair and made it into a shaker. The background is Distress Oxide Inks layered, spritz with water and dried between the layers. Then a light coating of Distress Glaze. Nuvo drops - I know - you're shocked - finish this off. Oh! except the sentiment which comes from Heffy Doodle 'Whatcha Saying' stamps and dies.

Beautiful Foil

Image
Another  SketchesInTime  (#330) entry for me. This one is a layout of my daughter's birthday from 2008. I'm finishing up the photos I had printed from back then. I'm so far behind though I'm skipping up to 2017. Hopefully, since I'm crafting more, I'll catch back up and move backwards and meet in the middle. A girl can dream right? LOL. I used a ton of old paper from my stash for this one. I was determined to get orange into the layout as it's my daughter's favorite color. The title is from years ago stickers from Doodlebug Designs. I foiled the two-sided stickers making the word 'beautiful'. Nuvo drops, flowers, etc. Making three little highlight areas around the title.

Crafty Thanks- LFL June 2018 kit

Image
I love how this card turned out. I did have to back the thanks with little strips of foam tape but it helped me to lay it on top the crafty. The Nuvo drops add the perfect touch. Simple but fun.

Creative thank you- LFL June 2018 kit

Image
Trying to get creative with my thank you cards. This isn't my favorite card but I think it gets the crafty point across. Paper, chipboard, peel off and Tim Holtz die cut thank you.

#LFLMC - June 2018 LFL kit

Image
Love from Lizi has a monthly challenge and this month its stripes. It's over by the 26th of the month so again I am barely squeaking it in - lol!  I used the Nuvo glimmer paste in Black Diamond and Topaz Blue. I added in the skinny peel offs for a pop of color - and because I am obsessed.  A quick and easy fun card.

Craftylicious June 2018 Love From Lizi Kit

Image
Love from Lizi June Kit! They can be purchased  here  if still available. Its a craftylicious kit. And I need to make some thank you cards for a craft event I'm attending in July so it is a perfect mix! The first photo shows the papers, stamps, stencil, peel offs (loving those lavender ones!), chipboard, stickers, etc. The second photo is all the "extras" to add pop to the layouts and cards. Tons of ribbons and die cuts. Wow - well we will see what I can do! Oh and I almost forgot - I bought a few fun extras - cuz - you know - everyone needs a few fun extras. Sparkly!

Blended - Color Throwdown #498

Image
I really do enjoy these color challenges. I have a lot of coloring media and this gets me to focus on that rather than the kit or the stamp (even though the stamp takes center stage on this card!) I started with the colors. I used my new Gina K minis with Ink blenders on Bristol smooth card stock.  So far I am happy with the purchase of these inks. I blended and let the colors rule. I added a Prima stamp from their Bloom Collection - it's pretty old and pulled from my stash, using Simon's Intense Black Ink. I used one of the dies from the Tonic Kit - pulling the ends in to give the sentiment more interest. Again I used the Ton for the sentiment - I am addicted to that stamp! Added some Nuvo drops and I am done. Please go to  Color Throw Down  to play along with the challenge. This card is definitely a departure from my normal style but I love it. It really stretches you!

Happy Tonic Kit 10

Image
Used the frame die and one of the kits stamps. Added the ribbon and button from my stash. I even put it wonky on the card but thats ok because I did use peel-offs, lol. (I used spray adhesive on the back of the frame, to make sure all the bits pieces still stuck down.)

Father - Tonic Kit 10

Image
A couple more last minute Father's Day cards - including one for my pregnant daughter's hubby :) and again I went crazy with the love from Lizi peel offs. I made use of my left over strips from the glimmer powder paper, which made me happy.

Restauranteer - Tonic Kit 10

Image
Played with the Nuvo Shimmer powder that came in the kit - used some white textured card stock from my stash. Tapped the bottom of the bottle tout some powder on and then sprayed it with water. Beautiful shimmery color that the photos don't do justice too. Mounted it all up using mostly papers from the kit. Added some wood and metal embellishments from my stash. I'm loving the letters from the die in the kit. Tried to keep it simple to let the inking the background be the star.

Flowery - Tonic Kit 10

Image
I can't get enough of this Anemone stamp by the Ton. Colored with Distress Oxide inks using a water brush. Nuvo drops added of course. Papers from the kit.

Boston - Tonic Kit 10

Image
Tried to focus on the items in the kit. In addition to the kit I used - Crushed Grape Delusions Spray, Coffee Shop Glimmer Mist to "pretreat" my lavender card stock. I mounted the photos on the Turquoise mirror card stock. But before I did I "gutted" them as Sandie  Steakgoddess  always calls it. I used the middle of "gut" to mat the trimmed photo with the puppy. I tend to do this with my specialty card stocks to get the best use out of them. I added Tim Holtz Chit Chat stickers and made a couple of my own by trimming a bit off the bottom one of the sticker sheets. Simple layout - except for the large numbers of Nuvo drops. Well, since I used no peel offs, I had go crazy somewhere!

Sunny Dialogue - Tonic Kit 10

Image
Mike and I enjoy the many breweries around town. A sunny day in December results in hoodies rather than coats here in Albuquerque. Dialogue is one of our favorites for its outside deck. I used my new Tonic kit. I added some papers from my stash. Some mirror brown peel-off from Love from Lizi -such an obsession! I used a Simon Says Stamp "Adult Beverages" stamp kit. Colored with Zig markers on Bristol Smooth card stock. Copper Penny, Midnight Sky and Morning Dew Nuvo drops.  A bit of clear vellum added some framing as did the tearing of the tan-cored black card stock.

Tonic Craft Kit 10

Image
Trying out the new Tonic kit! It is amazingly full of items - as you can see in the photo. A good value -- now lets see if I can get creative with it! (The glue pen got cut off in the photo - it was the surprise item- great stash builder!)

Card 3 for Father's Day

Image
This one is actually for my hubby. :) One of my daughters will use it. Same as the other two with the addition of the Nuvo embossing powder. I always have trouble with masculine cards... do other people?

Dad day - 2nd card

Image
Second Father's Day carder a friend to use. I love the texture here with the Tim Holtz embossing folder. More of that BoBunny Somewhere in Time collection and the SSS die and Pink and Main "Happy" stamp. Added in some black Love from Lizi peel offs - because - peel offs must be used.

Father's Day is Coming!

Image
A late start is pretty standard for me! Here's my first 2018 father's day card. This is for a friend to send to her dad. The papers are from an older BoBunny collection called Somewhere in Time. The die is Simon Says Stamp and the sentiment is from Pink and Main "Happy"It's a simple design but sometimes those are best.

Playing a Ton

Image
Using Anemone Border Cling and Anemone Bouquet Stamps and Dies I had a blast creating these three cards. Tim Holtz Distress Ink  Blueprint Sketch, Fossilized Amber, Abandoned Coral, Lucky Clover, and Mermaid Lagoon White embossed the images with Wow powder on white card stock then painted the flowers with a water brush using two coats. Added the background used a blending tool of matching color. Dug through my stash for matching card stock and decided to leave the sentiment for the inside.

I got these little beauties for traveling. Um... well that's my excuse. Now I'm looking for storage! More fun shopping lol. Everything was well-packaged and protected. Yay!

Selfie Layout - Sketches in Thyme Challenge

Image
I travel for work and it can  make long days. Especially when your married to your best friend and he doesn't like flying. So selfies it is :) I had to add a few Nuvo drops - cuz - well - Nuvo drops! All inspired by this sketch from  Sketches in Thyme

Another May kit one!

Image
My inspiration is running a bit on empty having made so many cards from the Love form Lizi May 2018  card kit but here is one more. This is all from the kit except the card base (Neenah 120lb), the Simon Says Stamp die and ink, and Nuvo clear drops on the leaf. It has the fun pun. Couldn't resist using at least one of the punny sentiments! So I'll just leaf you with this one. (It's not my fault - blame Lizi!)

This little piggy

Image
I got these cute little piggies from Mama Elephant and had to give them a try. I created two cards. The backgrounds are paper from the May Love from Lizi card kit. The piggies are stamped and white embossed on Bristol Smooth cardstock and colored with Distress Ink smooshed onto my glass mat and picked up with a water brush. The banner is a Simon Says Stamp Die with the stamp from the Ton (LOVING that typewriter font), with Love from Lizi embossing powder. The second card is more of the same. ;) And I gave a little peak of this insides. (Photos are a little over saturated. Sorry :(

Shiny hello

Image
Inspired by The Color Throw Down and Kristina Werner, I covered blue mirror card stock (Love from Lizi) with Nuvo Glimmer paste (Black Diamond) using a doily stencil from my stash. I split the paper and capped it with a Love from Lizi gold mirror peel off. Then using a die from Honey Bee Stamps, I die cut the sentiment with gold mirror card stock (LFL) and backed it, with inspiration from Amy R, with vellum. Simple but impactful. And two cards out of one design.

Color Throwdown Challenge

Image
My first time participating in the  Color Throwdown Challenge . I'm excited. It's all because of Amy at  Prairie Paper and Ink . I love these colors - I decided to play with my glimmer paste from Nuvo and a stencil from Clear Scraps. The paper is from my stash and the sentiment is from Stamping Up Butterfly Basics. The gold stickles ands the finishing touch! Here is the inspiration!
