I used Sketches in Thyme sketch #335 as my inspiration for this layout. We opened our Bistro last year. Love From Lizi's August 2018 card kit was the perfect shine to add to this happy layout! The Let's Celebrate is a stamp from the kit - I used LFL fine gold powder to emboss it. The remaining papers are from my stash. Simon Says Stamps stitched dies provided most of the embellishments. With Nuvo drops added in. Here's the inspiration sketch:
Ever get a present that let you know how much your friends knew you. This one had to be put down in print. My family helped finish the puzzle. But the love I felt from Bart and Sandie forever warmed my heart.
Matting - and more matting - paper from stash and LFL August 2018 kit. Love that present die. - I trimmed the bow. It ran down the length of the present but I kept the bow and ditched the rest cuz I loved the stars. Used my own handwriting but I liked it this time --- so there you go LOL
Using the sticky backed mirrors from the kit as well as some of the punch outs, I created this random pattern. Bright and shiny and it matches the silver.
Using some old DCWV paper, stash items, and -of course - Nuvo drops and peel offs. I created a layout for this closeup of three doggy friends. Silver highlights from the Love From Lizi kit. I used the back ground paper to provide the highlights.
Pictures of my son-in-law at work. Highlighted by shiny paper from Love from Lizi August 2018 kit. I created two clusters and a title area. I used paper from my stash, some washy tape and miscellaneous embellies I had left over. (Nuvo drops and peel offs included!)
At Junkiefest 2018 I took a class with Taylored Expressions. We used her liquid water colors - I had so much fun with these I decided to get a set for home. This is my first experiment - my swatch chart. I had so much fun just making this. Here they all are organized and ready to go. A couple rows in! And filled out - the jeweled tones are just beautiful! I used cookie monster for the stars on this card - the rest of the supplies came from Love From Lizi kit. So much fun!
I can't seem to stay away from the stencil. I love all the art-deco looking patterns. This is Black diamond glitter on white card stock. A scrap of gold glitter card stock was added with peel offs on either side to to ground the pop out sentiment. A peel off from was added to the center of the sentiment for more framing. And I pop dotted the little star to cap the tag look. A fun neutral gender card. I kept the inside simple with an off center white card, a bit more gold glitter paper and peel off. A little star was added to echo the star on the front.
This one I played with the gold stars vellum. I ran it through my Xyron sticker maker (3 inch width) to get the adhesive evenly distributed (so none would show). I then layered in on white card stock, putting two more layers of the vellum over itself. I loved the depth this created in the field of stars. A little black matting, more patterned paper and some pop outs completed the paper. I added some ribbon which gave a nice contrasting texture. The inside was finished with a quick matting. The pops of black really stand out against the yellow and gold.
I added a pop of red to this card. I love how this card kit lets you add whatever color you want. The silver pops against both the red and the black. I used another pop out from the sheet for the sentiment and added a bit of ribbon to it using my Tim Holtz tiny attacher. I lined the banners this time with the glittery black peel offs. I took the photo before finishing the inside which I added some white cardstock with a trim of the silver polkadots.
My first card using this awesome kit. I used my black diamond glimmer paste on black card stock through the stencil. The stencil is backed with repositional adhesive, making it super easy to use. If you are using glimmer paste be sure to wash your stencil and other tools right away to keep them in good working order. I used the punch out sheets for the banner and the sentiment. A little bit of the ribbon on the banners adds to the sentiment of the card. I placed this off center - a little different for me and added peel-offs. I really like how this turned out and how it can be used as a masculine card :)
Just trying to do a bit of a clean up and post some of the July cards that you guys haven't seen yet. Sorry so disorganized. Work travel, Junkie Fest, my daughter moving back in, life... it all got in the way. This kit was so much fun to work with - LOVED the decoupage from the UK. Here are the cards I missed posting:
So sorry that I haven’t been posting- I went to Junkiefest 2018 in Minneapolis and have bren trying to catch back up with home and work life since! Lizi came to the event as a total surprise and gave us our kits and added in the mega pack so i’ve got the August kit on steroids! Loving it all!!!! Also when Lizi points out you have a lot of peel offs form Love From Lizi - it kinda confirms you have an addiction!
